The famous areas in Cappadocia

   I would like to explain the famous areas in Cappadocia.
 

   This is the map of Cappadocia.  Cappadocia is divided into some areas.  Three of them are more popular than the others.  They are Urgup, Goreme and Avanos.

 

 

   The first area is Urgup.　 There was religious center of the Cappadocia region.  Some oldest rock churches are standing.  The old cave houses were restored as touristy cave hotels now.  Urgup has got the famous cave hotels.

 

   The second one is Goreme. Goreme has valley.  The valley created from volcanic rocks is famous with the chimney rocks.  There are some rock churches and Goreme Open Air Museum.

 

      The third one is Avanos. Avanos is famous for pottery.  Making pottery has continued from Hittite times.  We can experience making pottery at the studio.
